As all in turf management grapple with record-high fertilizer pricing, it’s helpful to know there are a few options when it comes to fairway applications.
While the cost of products has increased, budgets on golf courses are not increasing at the same rate. Now more than ever is the time to rely on quality inputs that give you the best nutrient availability for the money.
The primary Redox product for fairways has been TurfRx Fairway+ at 3 oz./1000, This has been a monthly application, along with a Nitrogen source, and has been a rock steady program, that covers P-K, and soluble carbon inputs.
There are several ways you can go to achieve plant and soil health with Redox products. Soil types and time of year will make a difference. It’s difficult to stamp one program for every situation, every turf type and all of the variables. When TurfRx Fairway+ was developed to include TurfRx K+, TurfRx P+ and TurfRx C-85 it worked everywhere, on any soil type, and on any variety of turf. Why? It delivered three important inputs, P-K and soluble carbon. Here at Redox we look at over 3000 soil reports every year, and, when looking at soil test on fairways worldwide, the results are very similar in nutrient deficiencies. Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium and Soluble Carbon are the leaders across the board of being either low in plant available form or very low to non-existent.
Is there an affordable fertility program to satisfy the four most important nutrients the plant needs for growth, recovery, root development and over plant health? Yes, there is.
It sounds simple, but remember it’s the quality of the chelation, complexing and microencapsulation of Redox products that allows elements like Phosphate, Potassium and Calcium to be in plant available form, and the process of getting a beneficial form of soluble carbon with Humic, Fulvic and Long chain soluble carbon from TurfRx C-85 to give the soil what it’s so desperately lacking. TurfRx Fairway+ worked better than anyone could believe, so it became the standard on fairways. Add a Nitrogen source and you were off and running with an N-P-K, soluble carbon input with only two products in the tank.

TurfRx OxyCal is effective with an application rate of 2-3 lbs./acre monthly. Under normal growing conditions we recommend 2 lbs/acre. Under severe abiotic stress conditions we recommend 3lbs/acre.
